Bulb Basics
- In areas where the temperatures regularly dip into the 30s, plants bulbs in the fall. If you live in a warmer region, buy your bulbs in the fall, and store them in the crisper drawer of your refrigerator for 8 to 10 weeks before planting, or look for prechilled bulbs. You'll be rewarded in the spring.
- Choose bulbs that are heavy and firm. Avoid any that are moldy or those that give to the touch.
