A mass of hydrangeas in low, clear vessels gets a big dose of sophistication with Imus' selection of shades -- everything from eggplant to lilac to blue. "I lined clear vases with floral foam and aucuba leaves and then had hellebore leaves extending out because I love that shape being visible," she says.

White freesia tucked between the flowers adds texture and holds the blooms in place. This arrangement fits perfectly into the windowsill and gives it a dash of fresh color, but it would also look appropriate as the centerpiece on a traditional oval dining table, providing a low, long display of color and texture in a formal space.
