A study in pinks and browns, this room inspired Imus to create companion arrangements that reflect the setting and the containers. The different-size chartreuse pots, one glazed and one matte, prompted her to select flowers that play off the color.

Baby green hydrangeas, pink roses, variegated daphne greenery, lilacs, and antique hydrangeas fill the largest pot. In the smaller one, Imus worked in hydrangea leaves ("great filler leaves"), white ranunculus, and more antique hydrangeas. "I love all the contrasts that make so many connections in the room," she says. And her choice of the rather stark white flower compared to the other more muted tones? "I think it's so important to the composition. It keeps your attention on the flowers," she says.
