Meet Joe Minton

A true Southern gentleman, Fort Worth designer Joseph J. Minton is a collector who displays and arranges with style. But he can also be a minimalist who sees the genius of American design legends such as Syrie Maugham. His antiques business has him traveling the world, his design business brings him back to the States, and his love of home keeps him close to his roots.

Southern Accents:I know you are not a fan of trendy decorating, but what current trend can you not resist?
Joe Minton: I seem to see a trend returning to painting furniture white, and it looks fresh and new again. It is especially good for reproduction Chippendale and Gothic pieces. Toile de Jouy was a huge trend a few years ago, and I still say there’s nothing better than toile covering an upstairs dormered bedroom. I also never tire of the motif of shells and coral.
