"Daffodil yellow is warm and inviting and has a youthful attitude. What could be more welcoming in a foyer? For a 1950s house,
I chose this classic paper from the David Hicks collection by Clarence House because of its vintage yet timeless appeal. With
superwhite trim, it really pops," says designer Meg Braff.
Inspirations: John Fowler, Nancy Lancaster, and Sister Parish.
Use it with: Chocolate brown, black, red, or turquoise for a bold look; white or other yellows for a softer look.
Avoid: Other primary colors. Your room could wind up looking like a crayon box.
How to use it: Bring a tired piece of upholstery back to life with yellow glazed chintz. Or create an elegant living room with yellow silk
curtains and white walls.
Who's using it: Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, and Tory Burch went wild for this color in their spring and resort collections, and
there are many yellow handbags on the shelves this spring -- although it is a perennial favorite at Kate Spade.
