Don't trust the paint chip.
Andreas von Einsiedel

Don't trust the paint chip.

If your goal is a vibrant, sunny room, be aware: A hue that appears just right on the paint chip will usually intensify once it’s on your walls. “Because of the reverberation of the light, it magnifies itself and becomes much brighter,” Jayne says. “We often will pick out a color we think looks good on the paint deck and then go a few shades lighter.”

In this space: Thanks to cheery yellow-and-red tiles, this Provençal-inspired bath feels like pure sunlight. The color infuses it with a glow that’s not too sharp or glaring.
