Red

Red is the drama queen of all colors. There is no competing with it, no upstaging it. As an accent or filling a room, it commands attention. It is intense and eternally flattering. Not for the timid, red is a bold backdrop that begs for strong accessories, like great silver and porcelain.

Dark chocolates, charcoal grays, and rich caramels all have enough strength to balance vibrant reds. We haven't seen as many red walls in the past few years. But variations on the shade -- softened with white and gray or yellow -- inspire a warm, festive feeling.
