“The clustering of elements typical of Cotswold cottages creates interesting massing and a lot of outdoor spaces―which is
what I tried to do when I designed the house,” says Boerder. Using the space between the three adjoining structures, he created
a courtyard in the front to function as an outdoor reception area and a secondary “stop-and-linger” entrance to the home.
