Fiona Says: "I love to use wallpaper in dining rooms because it adds interest and pattern to a room that is typically all hard, solid surfaces. Many people use scenic wallpaper in the dining room, perhaps because you sit there so long that it gives you time to take in the view. Another popular thing to do with scenic papers is to frame the panels and use them as art in a living room. That way, you can take them with you when you move, a real plus since hand-painted papers tend to be a bit more pricey."
In this room: Homeowner Jennifer Randle describes this room, designed by Ann Holden, as almost too beautiful to use. Its luminous Gracie wallpaper, hand-painted and custom-designed for the space, was the starting point for the sand-hued leather upholstered chairs, silvery wool rug bound in silk, and glittering antique chandelier.
