In the South Carolina home of architects Mark and
Melissa Maresca, black unifies the entry and dining room and reins in the
sunny yellow walls. Black mats on a collection of architectural engravings
echo the outlines of the mirror, fireplace surround, chair backs, and
window sashes in the dining room beyond.
