| The Color You Need Now ... Fuchsia |
| This vibrant shade might conjure up images of lipstick and nail polish, but used wisely, it's surprisingly sophisticated |

· The color is bold, so it's best used in small
doses. For impact, use fuchsia in a tablecloth, tableware, accent
pillows, or even as upholstery on a chair.
· Pair it with neutrals, such as camel, gray, or even
white to energize a space. When you bring in chartreuse, orange, or
turquoise, it's pure Lilly Pulitzer.
· Use it in place of red during the holidays -- or
any time of year.
· It's probably not the best idea to cover an
entire room in the color, but painting one wall will give you the punch you
want without being overwhelming. Try it behind a bed or in a niche.
· Make a connection. We've seen fuchsia for
years in antique Oriental carpets, and it's been prized for centuries
in roses, orchids, peonies, and dahlias, so use it to bring out what
already exists in your interiors for a smashing result.
